High Voltage Safety Training
What is High Voltage?
This class gives you an in depth look at high voltage electricity and the dangers associated with it. It also illustrates the use of thermal technology and how it is used in the electrical maintenance field. We highly recommend taking this class as an addition to NFPA 70E Electrical Safety Training, Basic Industrial Electricity, and Electrical Print Reading.
The term high voltage characterizes electrical circuits in which the voltage used is the cause of particular safety concerns and insulation requirements.
LV (low voltage) = 50v to 600 or 1000v.
MV (medium voltage) = 600 to anywhere between 10,000 and 100,000v
HV (high voltage) = Anything above MV
This class covers:
- What high voltage is
- how to identify problems (thermal imaging)
- switchgrears
- NFPA 70B
- the use of ppe (personal protection equipment)
- limits of approach
- grounding
- and much more…
