Hands-On Troubleshooting

Designed for Maintenance and Service people!

Day One: (Or Single Day) Troubleshooting Industrial Electricity
  • Safety Basics First!
  • Learn to read Electrical Drawings and symbols
  • Learn to properly use a meter
  • How these common components work and how to troubleshoot them: Starters, Relays, Transformers, Capacitors, Switches, Limit switches, and more...
  • Understanding the fast way to finding a failure in a circuit.
  • You'll learn to find an fix problems in all kinds of circuits.

The majority of this class is spent working on real powered electrical panels with real electrical components. The Instructor will place "Real World" bugs or failures in the circuit. And using the methods learned in this class the students will use their meters and instruments to find and actually fix the problem. Real failures...real results!

Day Two: Troubleshooting Industrial Electricity II
  • Troubleshooting more complex components such as: Timers, Electronic Sensors, Proximity Sensors, Motor Overload Devices, Heating Elements, Thermal Switches. Remote Stations, and More...
  • Understanding Complex Ladder Diagram Symbols
  • Troubleshooting Three Phase Motors
  • Insulation tests using a Megger
  • Troubleshooting using more advanced devices and Circuits

This second day reflects the same methodology in troubleshooting by adding more complex components and circuits. This training prepares a maintenance person with the knowledge needed to quickly find and repair the failures that are found everyday in industrial facilities.

The Hands-On approach allows the student to practice what he or she is learning building the needed confidence to make them a better, faster troubleshooter!
